Jarvan IV

Jungle

A diver who flags-and-drags into a knock-up and cages your carry.

Jarvan IV

Jarvan drops a flag (E) and dashes to it (Q) for a knock-up combo, shields himself (W), and his ultimate creates a ring of terrain that traps a target inside with him. He engages instantly onto a carry and locks the area down for his team.

Jarvan IV

• 1Flash or dash out of his ultimate cage before his team collapses.
• 2Bait his E→Q knock-up; after it he has no more engage for a while.
• 3Spread from his flag so his knock-up catches only him.
• 4His ult walls can body-block his own team — use them against him.

• ✓Short engage window; after E→Q he's committed and killable.
• ✓His ult cage can trap his own allies out.
• ✓Limited follow-up damage once the combo is spent.
• ✓Vulnerable if you Flash out of the cage.

Jarvan IV

Strong: his first hit on a target shreds a chunk of their armor. Weak: it's a one-time proc per target — nothing sustained.

• Q

Strong: dragged along his flag it becomes a knock-up engage. Weak: no flag, no knock-up — bait the E→Q and he's out of engage.

• W

Strong: a shield and slow that helps him survive the dive. Weak: modest value — burst through it once his engage is spent.

• E

Strong: the flag that his Q pulls to — the core of his engage. Weak: spacing away from the flag denies the knock-up entirely.

• R

Strong: walls off terrain around a target, caging them with him. Weak: Flash or a dash escapes it, and the walls can trap his own team out.

Flash or dashes to escape his ult cage; spacing from his flag denies the knock-up. Punish him after his E→Q combo is on cooldown.
