What makes Alistar dangerous

Alistar knocks up everyone around him (Q), headbutts a target away (W) — the W+Q combo displaces you into his team — roots with trample stacks (E), and his ultimate removes CC and massively reduces damage, making him nearly unkillable in dives.

How to play against Alistar

• 1Stand behind minions or away from walls — his W+Q combo needs a clean angle.
• 2His all-in has long cooldowns: after a failed engage, punish for 10+ seconds.
• 3Don't burst him during his ult — switch targets until it expires.
• 4Poke him at range: he has zero ranged answers.

  Triumphant Roar

  Alistar charges his roar by stunning or displacing enemy champions or when nearby enemies die. When fully charged he heals himself all nearby allied champions.

  Strong: rolling stacks heal him and nearby allies in fights. Weak: the burst heal needs stacks — end trades before it charges.

• Q
  Pulverize

  Alistar smashes the ground, dealing damage to nearby enemies and tossing them into the air.

  Strong: an instant AoE knock-up around him. Weak: melee radius — spacing denies the entire combo.

• W
  Headbutt

  Alistar rams a target with his head, dealing damage and knocking the target back.

  Strong: headbutts you into his team or tower. Weak: needs a clean angle — stand so the push sends you to safety, not into walls.

• E
  Trample

  Alistar tramples nearby enemy units, ignoring unit collision and gaining stacks if he damages an enemy champion. At full stacks Alistar's next basic attack against an enemy champion deals additional magic damage and stuns them.

  Strong: trample stacks into an empowered stunning auto. Weak: he must stay glued to you — kite the trample duration.

  Unbreakable Will

  Alistar lets out a wild roar, removing all crowd control effects on himself, and reducing incoming physical and magical damage for the duration.

  Strong: removes CC and cuts damage massively — unkillable dives. Weak: damage stays pitiful; ignore him and kill the carry behind.
