What makes Karma dangerous
Karma pokes hard with Q (empowered: a slowing AoE burst), tethers a root (W) that also heals her, and shields with move speed (E — empowered covers the team). Her passive refunds her ultimate constantly, so the empowered spells come every few trades.
How to play against Karma
- 1Dodge the first Q of every trade — it's most of her damage.
- 2Break the W tether by walking away fast or through minions.
- 3Engage when her mantra (empowered spell) was just spent.
- 4She falls off — survive lane and out-scale her poke.
Weaknesses to exploit
- ✓Skillshot-dependent poke — dodge Q and she does little.
- ✓Falls off in the late game versus real enchanters.
- ✓The W root needs a long tether — easy to break.
- ✓Squishy with no escape besides move speed.
Abilities & how to counter them
What each of Karma's abilities does — and how to play around it.
P
Gathering FireKarma's damaging abilities will reduce the cooldown of Mantra.
Strong: her hits refund mantra constantly — empowered spells every few trades. Weak: predictable cadence: after a mantra, her threat dips.
Q
Inner FlameKarma sends forth a ball of spirit energy that explodes and deals damage upon hitting an enemy unit.Mantra Bonus: In addition to the explosion, Mantra increases the destructive power of her Inner Flame, creating a cataclysm which deals damage after a short delay.
Strong: mantra-Q is an AoE burst with a heavy slow. Weak: a straight skillshot blocked by minions — keep the wave between you.
W
Focused ResolveKarma creates a tether between herself and a targeted enemy, dealing damage and revealing them. If the tether is not broken, the enemy will be rooted and damaged again.Mantra Bonus: Karma strengthens the link, healing herself and extending the root duration.
Strong: the tether roots and heals her at rank-up. Weak: needs sustained proximity — break the leash instantly.
E
InspireKarma summons a protective shield that absorbs incoming damage and increases the Move Speed of the protected ally.Mantra Bonus: Energy radiates out from her target, strengthening the initial shield and applying Inspire to nearby allied champions.
Strong: a speed shield; mantra version shields the whole team. Weak: shields, not health — burn through and keep pressing.
R
MantraKarma empowers her next ability to do an additional effect. Mantra is available at level 1 and does not require a skill point.
Strong: no ult button — mantra just makes her basics elite on a short loop. Weak: no big fight-swing ult exists; her teamfight ceiling is capped.
Itemization
Sustain through poke (Doran's Shield lanes) and engage on mantra downtime. MR blunts her entire damage profile.
