Nilah counters (Bot)

Common role: ADC

The best counter to Nilah in Bot is Veigar: 58.6% win rate over 71 ranked games on patch 26.21.

A melee ADC whose whip blades and joy turn 2v2s into massacres.

What makes Nilah dangerous

Nilah is a melee marksman: her passive SHARES healing and XP with allies, W blurs her dodging ALL attacks, E dashes through targets repeatedly, and her ultimate whirlpools everyone in range with heavy damage and healing. In extended 2v2s she out-sustains everything.

How to counter Nilah

• 1Don't auto-attack during her W blur — every attack misses; use spells.
• 2Poke from range: melee-range ADC suffers into long lanes.
• 3Disengage the ult whirlpool — its pull and healing decide extended fights.
• 4Anti-heal cuts her and her duo's shared sustain.

What are Nilah's weaknesses?

• ✓Melee range — poke lanes starve her.
• ✓W dodges autos but not spells.
• ✓Needs extended fights — burst deletes her first.
• ✓E needs targets — no minions, no mobility.

Abilities & how to counter them

What each of Nilah's abilities does — and how to play around it.

• P
  Joy Unending

Nilah gains increased experience from last-hitting minions along with the ability to enhance and share nearby healing and shielding from her allies.

Strong: SHARES XP and converts nearby heals/shields into her own. Weak: the sharing needs proximity — poke the duo apart.

• Q
  Formless Blade

With a snap of her whip-blade, Nilah damages any enemies she hits in a straight line in her chosen direction. This action extends her attack range for a short duration.

Strong: whip-blade cone with bonus range on cooldown-scaling crits. Weak: still melee-adjacent — classic range kiting starves it.

• W
  Jubilant Veil

Nilah envelops herself in mist, increasing her movement speed and allowing her to gracefully dodge all incoming attacks. Any allies she touches during the mist's duration will also gain this effect.

Strong: a blur that makes ALL attacks against her MISS. Weak: only attacks — spells hit through it; hold autos, cast spells.

• E
  Slipstream

Nilah enthusiastically dashes toward her target, dealing damage to any enemies she passes through on the way.

Strong: repeated dashes through units keep her glued to you. Weak: needs dash targets — no minions around, no mobility.

• R
  Apotheosis

Twirling her whip-blade in joyful exuberance, Nilah deals damage to enemies around her before pulling them closer with her weapon.

Strong: a whirlpool PULL with big damage and shared healing. Weak: the pull radius is fixed — dash out on the wind-up.

Itemization

Range and spell damage: her W laughs at autos only. Anti-heal both her and the enchanter she drags along.
