What makes Jinx dangerous
Jinx switches between long-range rockets (AoE) and rapid-fire miniguns, and her passive gives huge attack and movement speed on every kill or assist, letting her snowball a won fight. Her traps and global ultimate zone and finish targets. She's weak and immobile early but becomes a game-ending late-game carry.
How to play against Jinx
- 1Punish her early — Jinx has no escape and short-range minigun damage before items. All-in her lane in the first 10-15 minutes.
- 2Deny her resets: never let her get the first kill in a teamfight, or her passive speed buff makes her impossible to catch. Focus or peel her before she snowballs the fight.
- 3She has zero mobility. Hard CC, dashes and assassins delete her — get on top of her before she can kite with her speed.
- 4Respect her rocket (AoE) range and her chompers traps around objectives — clear traps with sweepers and don't clump for her rockets.
Weaknesses to exploit
- ✓No dash or escape — highly vulnerable to engage.
- ✓Weak early game and short minigun range.
- ✓Falls off if denied kills/resets in fights.
- ✓Reliant on peel; punished by dive comps.
Abilities & how to counter them
What each of Jinx's abilities does — and how to play around it.
P
Get Excited!Jinx receives massively increased Move Speed and Attack Speed whenever she helps kill or destroy an enemy champions epic jungle monster, or structure.
Strong: kills and assists grant huge attack/move speed, snowballing fights. Weak: deny her the first kill and she can't run away with the fight.
Q
Switcheroo!Jinx modifies her basic attacks by swapping between Pow-Pow, her minigun and Fishbones, her rocket launcher. Attacks with Pow-Pow grant Attack Speed, while attacks with Fishbones deal area of effect damage, gain increased range, but drain Mana and attack slower.
Strong: rockets are long-range AoE; minigun is high single-target DPS up close. Weak: minigun is short-range — engage her before she swaps to rockets and kites.
W
Zap!Jinx uses Zapper, her shock pistol, to fire a blast that deals damage to the first enemy hit, slowing and revealing it.
E
Flame Chompers!Jinx throws out a line of snare grenades that explode after 5 seconds, lighting enemies on fire. Flame Chompers will bite enemy champions who walk over them, rooting them in place.
R
Super Mega Death Rocket!Jinx fires a super rocket across the map that gains damage as it travels. The rocket will explode upon colliding with an enemy champion, dealing damage to it and surrounding enemies based on their missing Health.
Strong: a global rocket that executes low targets across the map. Weak: it's a slow skillshot allies can body-block — don't sit low in a straight line.
Itemization
Jinx is a crit AD marksman. Reach her with hard CC and dashes, use Exhaust in fights, and deny her the first kill to stop her passive snowball. Attack-speed slows (Randuin's, Frozen Heart) blunt her minigun DPS.
