A hypercarry marksman who jumps in, resets and blows up the fight.

What makes Tristana dangerous

Tristana gains huge attack range as she levels, jumps in or out with W (which resets on kills), plants an explosive E bomb, and knocks a diver away with her R. Late game she deletes tanks and resets across a fight, becoming nearly unstoppable if she gets ahead.

How to play against Tristana

• 1Punish her early: levels 1–8 she is one of the weakest laning marksmen.
• 2Engage when her W is down — without her jump she has no escape.
• 3Bait her R (knockback) early; it is her main disengage tool.
• 4Itemize armor and stack health so her late-game auto DPS is manageable.

  Draw a Bead

  Increases Tristana's Attack Range as she levels.

  Strong: her attack range grows every level into the longest in the game. Weak: at level 1 her range is short — punish her before it scales.

• Q
  Rapid Fire

  Tristana fires her weapon rapidly, increasing her Attack Speed for a short time.

  Strong: a big attack-speed steroid that spikes her DPS in fights. Weak: it's a temporary window — disengage until it expires.

• W
  Rocket Jump

  Tristana fires at the ground to propel her to a distant location, dealing damage and slowing surrounding units for a brief period where she lands.

  Strong: a leap for engage or escape that resets on a kill. Weak: her only mobility — catch her with it on cooldown and she's stuck.

• E
  Explosive Charge

  When Tristana kills a unit, her cannonballs burst into shrapnel, dealing damage to surrounding enemies. Can be activated to place a bomb on a target enemy that explodes after a short duration dealing damage to surrounding units.

  Strong: a bomb that autos stack, then detonates for heavy AoE burst. Weak: it needs several autos to charge — disrupt her before it detonates.

• R
  Buster Shot

  Tristana loads a massive cannonball into her weapon and fires it at an enemy unit. This deals Magic Damage and knocks the target back. If the target is carrying the Explosive Charge bomb, the bomb detonation radius is doubled.

  Strong: knocks a diver away and resets her Explosive Charge. Weak: it's also her disengage — bait it, then commit when it's down.

Itemization

Armor (Frozen Heart, Randuin's) tames her late auto DPS. Assassins and hard engage punish the window before she has her core items and W resets.
