What makes Vi dangerous

Vi charges a Q dash to knock you back, shreds armor with her passive and W, and her ultimate (R) is a targeted, unstoppable knock-up that ignores everything in the way — a guaranteed pick on a carry. She dives the backline and cannot be peeled off mid-ult.

How to play against Vi

• 1Respect her R: it is targeted and unstoppable. Save Flash, Zhonya's or QSS for the moment she ults you.
• 2She is weak in the early jungle and reveals herself when charging Q — interrupt it with any CC.
• 3Group with your team: alone you are her ideal R target, together she gets peeled.
• 4Buy armor and health — her whole combo is physical and front-loaded.

Weaknesses to exploit

• ✓No hard disengage — once her Q and R are down she is just a bruiser.
• ✓Her ultimate hits only one target; a grouped team can peel it.
• ✓Weak, telegraphed early clears — easy to invade or counter-gank.
• ✓Kitable: without Q charged she has little gap-close.

  Blast Shield

  Vi charges a shield over time. The shield can be activated by hitting an enemy with an ability.

  Strong: hitting an ability grants her a shield, softening your trade-back. Weak: the shield is small and one-time — burst through it.

• Q
  Vault Breaker

  Vi charges her gauntlets and unleashes a vault shattering punch, carrying her forward. Enemies she hits are knocked back and receive a stack of Denting Blows.

  Strong: a long charged dash that knocks you into a wall for a stun. Weak: it reveals a charge-up and can be interrupted by any CC — punish the wind-up.

  Denting Blows

  Vi's punches break her opponent's Armor, dealing bonus damage and granting her Attack Speed.

  Strong: shreds armor and ramps her attack speed the longer she hits you. Weak: needs sustained autos — disengage before the stacks build.

• E
  Relentless Force

  Vi's next attack blasts through her target, dealing damage to enemies behind it.

  Strong: empowered auto that cleaves and resets her attack timer. Weak: melee range only — kite her out of auto range.

• R
  Cease and Desist

  Vi runs down an enemy, knocking aside anyone in the way. When she reaches her target she knocks it into the air, jumps after it, and slams it back into the ground.

  Strong: targeted, unstoppable knock-up that flies through everything to reach a carry. Weak: single target only — Flash, Zhonya's or QSS negates it, and grouping lets your team peel.

Armor and health counter her hardest: Plated Steelcaps, Frozen Heart, Randuin's Omen, Thornmail. Carries want Zhonya's or a QSS to survive her ult.
