Anivia stuns with a slow-flying Q, blocks paths with an impassable wall, melts waves and champions with her ult storm + E double damage on chilled targets, and her passive revives her as an egg — you must kill her twice. In chokes she's a raid boss.
How to play against Anivia
- 1Fight her in open areas — walls and storms rule the chokes.
- 2Kill the egg only with follow-up ready, or save the damage.
- 3Her Q is very slow — sidestep it and the burst combo dies.
- 4She's oppressively mana-hungry early — force spell trades.
Weaknesses to exploit
- ✓Extremely slow and immobile.
- ✓Early mana problems cripple her trades.
- ✓The stun is one of the slowest projectiles in the game.
- ✓Egg placement is fixed — burn it when your team surrounds it.
Abilities & how to counter them
What each of Anivia's abilities does — and how to play around it.
P
RebirthUpon taking fatal damage, Anivia reverts to an egg and is reborn with full health.
Strong: death turns her into an egg that revives — two kills required. Weak: the egg is stationary — kill it only with damage to spare.
Q
Flash FrostAnivia brings her wings together and summons a sphere of ice that flies towards her opponents, chilling and damaging anyone in its path. When the sphere explodes it does moderate damage in a radius, stunning anyone in the area.
Strong: a flying stun that starts her burst chains. Weak: one of the slowest projectiles in the game — sidestep on reflex.
W
CrystallizeAnivia condenses the moisture in the air into an impassable wall of ice to block all movement. The wall only lasts a short duration before it melts.
Strong: an impassable wall that traps or splits fights. Weak: temporary — hug your escape route before she casts it.
E
FrostbiteWith a flap of her wings, Anivia blasts a freezing gust of wind at her target, dealing damage. If the target was recently hit by Flash Frost or damaged by a fully formed Glacial Storm, the damage they take is doubled.
Strong: double damage on chilled (Q/R-touched) targets. Weak: needs the chill setup — deny Q/R hits and E stays weak.
R
Glacial StormAnivia summons a driving rain of ice and hail to damage her enemies and slow their advance.
Strong: a growing storm that melts waves and chills for E. Weak: heavy mana drain and stationary — leave the circle.
Itemization
Open-field fights and early mana pressure. Track the egg cooldown; don't chase into walls and storms.
