What makes Lucian dangerous

Lucian double-taps with his passive after every ability, dashes with E to reposition, fires a piercing Q, and unloads a barrage ultimate. In the early game he out-trades almost anyone; his goal is to snowball the lane before his damage falls off.

How to play against Lucian

• 1Scale past him: he is weakest in the late game, so survive lane and out-scale.
• 2Don't trade into his passive; step back after he uses an ability to deny the double shot.
• 3Punish his E cooldown — after he dashes he is briefly stuck and killable.
• 4Sustain his poke and avoid his Q line to blunt his lane bully phase.

  Whenever Lucian uses an ability, his next attack becomes a double-shot. When Lucian is healed or shielded by an ally, or when a nearby enemy Champion is immobilized, his next 2 basic attacks will deal bonus magic damage.

  Strong: fires a second shot after every ability, doubling his trade damage. Weak: step back after he casts to deny the second shot's value.

  Piercing Light

  Lucian shoots a bolt of piercing light through a target.

  Strong: a piercing line that pokes through minions. Weak: easy to block with the minion wave — stand behind creeps to eat none of it.

• W
  Ardent Blaze

  Lucian shoots a missile that explodes in a star shape, marking and briefly revealing enemies. Lucian gains Move Speed for attacking marked enemies.

  Strong: marks you and grants him move speed for the chase. Weak: a slow skillshot — dodge it to deny the speed and his engage.

  Relentless Pursuit

  Lucian quickly dashes a short distance. Lightslinger attacks reduce Relentless Pursuit's cooldown.

  Strong: a dash that resets when he hits marked targets, keeping him slippery. Weak: after it he's briefly grounded — collapse in that moment.

  The Culling

  Lucian unleashes a torrent of shots from his weapons.

  Strong: a barrage of shots that shreds a target in seconds. Weak: he stands still and fires in one direction — dash aside or block with a body.
