What makes Renekton dangerous
Renekton builds Fury to empower his abilities — a healing slash (Q), a dash (E) he can use twice to engage and escape, and a stun (W). He's one of the strongest early laners, looking to snowball a lead through level 2-6 aggression. His weakness is that he fades hard in the late game.
How to play against Renekton
- 1Survive his early spikes and outscale him. Renekton is strongest levels 2-6 — play safe when he has Fury and punish when it's empty.
- 2Bait his empowered W stun before you commit. Without Fury his W doesn't stun — trade when his Fury bar is low.
- 3Respect his double E: he dashes in and can dash back out. Don't over-commit to a trade he can escape and re-engage from.
- 4In teamfights he's a short-range diver with no reliable CC beyond his stun. Kite him and focus your damage on his carries.
Weaknesses to exploit
- ✓Falls off hard in the mid-to-late game.
- ✓Empowered abilities need Fury — punish an empty bar.
- ✓No ranged threat; kiteable in fights.
- ✓Grievous Wounds cuts his Q healing.
Abilities & how to counter them
What each of Renekton's abilities does — and how to play around it.
P
Reign of AngerRenekton's attacks generate Fury, increased when he is low on life. This Fury can empower his abilities with bonus effects.
Strong: Fury empowers his abilities into big damage, heal and stun. Weak: with an empty Fury bar his power drops — trade when it's low.
Q
Cull the MeekRenekton swings his blade, dealing moderate physical damage to all targets around him, and heals for a small portion of the damage dealt. If he has more than 50 Fury, his damage and heal are increased.
W
Ruthless PredatorRenekton slashes his target twice, dealing moderate physical damage and stuns them for 0.75 seconds. If Renekton has more than 50 Fury, he slashes his target three times, destroying damage shields on the target, dealing high physical damage, and stunning them for 1.5 seconds.
Strong: empowered W stuns and does heavy damage. Weak: without Fury it doesn't stun — bait it, then trade.
E
Slice and DiceRenekton dashes, dealing damage to units along the way. Empowered, Renekton deals bonus damage and reduces the Armor of units hit.
Strong: two dashes to engage and escape. Weak: don't over-commit to a trade he can dash out of and re-engage.
R
DominusRenekton transforms into the Tyrant form, gaining bonus Health and dealing damage to enemies around him. While in this form, Renekton gains Fury periodically.
Itemization
Renekton is AD with healing. Grievous Wounds and armor (Plated Steelcaps) blunt his early all-ins, and scaling into the late game beats him outright. Ranged tops can poke and deny his short-range aggression.
